EASTR
European Association of State Territorial Representatives In a way, this meeting is more institutional and can therefore be open to other

For about eighteen years now, territorial representatives from more than twenty European States meet regularly, each time in a different country, to discuss topics they are directly concerned with and exchange good practices.

There are two sessions per year :

  • EDSTR - The European days of State Territorial Representatives -  (in the spring) are organised on a different theme each year and prepared by a small group of countries. The session lasts two days and a half (from Thursday noon to Saturday afternoon) and the working languages are English and French (plus host country’s language)
  • The Euro Mediterranean Observatory of State territorial action (in the autumn) constitutes from 2008, a real annual European observatory of the STR's job and of the States' territorial action. In a way, it can therefore be open to other personalities (such as public service directors, elected officials, academics...)

2012 program :

  • Paris, France - 15 to 17 March : XIXth European Days "The STR facing the metropolitan fact"
  • Paphos, Cyprus - 29 October to 1st December : Euro Mediterranean Observatory "Bridging the development gap between urban and rural areas : what role for the STR next to the other national or local actors ?"
